Weisiger Chapel
Plans are underway to renovate the Weisiger Chapel at Presbyterian Hospital. Included in the current design is a large milk white acrylic window sculpture to offer diffused lighting (and coincidentally hide the view of roof tops and mechanicals). Also included is a concrete altar, with cement based ornamentation and sculptural elements, and integral color plastered walls. The design motivation is to create a serene space for reflection and prayer. A safe haven for bereaving families and loved ones. A soothing environment that affords the freedom to let go. A sacred chamber to gather one’s thoughts. A place to remember and to share stories and hopes and fears.
